October is one of the best months of the year. It has Halloween, it’s National Pizza Month, and it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, we at Larry H. Miller Southwest Hyundai of Albuquerque are so proud to honor this month with our Think Pink Sales Event. We know that during this month, there is no better time to bring awareness to this disease and all of the ways in which we can fight it together.
Cancer is unfortunately very common, especially breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States aside from skin cancer. It is also the second leading cause of death after lung cancer. It can be shocking to learn that on average one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime.
These are scary numbers, but there is a silver lining here. Since 1989, death rates have been decreasing. It is widely believed that this amazing decrease is the result of advancements made to cancer treatment; earlier detection due to more frequent medical screenings; and increased awareness of the disease. We want to keep seeing these statistics drop and that’s why we are so eager to help spread awareness this year at your favorite Hyundai dealership.
