Hyundai's upcoming Fuel Cell SUV will take the place of the Tucson Fuel Cell here in the U.S. It will be more efficient and offer a better range and enhanced performance. Hyundai has previewed the prototype that is near-production ready.

The Fuel Cell SUV is styled similarly to the FE Fuel Cell Concept in that it is minimalist and modern. The cabin in this SUV is well-made and offers five seats with easy to read digital displays with controls made with the driver in mind. Other facts about the new Fuel Cell SUV include:

  • 161 horsepower
  • 60% operating efficiency
  • starting temps as low as 22 degrees Fahrenheit

Hyundai plans to expand their line of electric vehicles including the new Kona crossover and an all-electric Hyundai Genesis that is set to hit the market in 2021. The new Hyundai Fuel Cell SUV is set to make it's U.S. appearance in January of 2018.
