    Sheryl has one simple philosophy when it comes to the car business: Take Care of the Customer! "It doesn't matter what else happens," she says . "We have to make the customer happy."

    She feels the internet is making the car buying experience easier and less intimidating for shoppers. "Now we can communicate with people on their own time. They can get as much information as they need without even leaving the house! So when they've chosen a few select vehicles, all they have to do is come in and drive them. They just have to pick the one they like."

    Tom Hornback has operated Southwest Hyundai as General Manager since 2003.

    He fell in love with Albuquerque when he used to drive through on his way to and from different assignments in the Navy and as an officer in the Marine Corps. He always vowed to move here when his time in the Armed Forces was done. He loves to ski, mountain bike and go on road trips. He is married to Veronica Silva, whom he met at the dealership.

    Tom enjoys working with Hyundai customers: "Hyundai customers are generally more educated about the automotive business," he says. "That's why they're Hyundai customers. They've usually shopped around a bit more, and done more research than... say a Honda or Toyota customer. They know that Hyundai's are better built and more reliable, with a better warranty. So we're dealing with a much more confident and knowledgeable consumer."

    Robert came to Southwest Hyundai as a Parts Counter Salesperson. But he soon took over the reigns of the entire Parts Department. He enjoys golfing, spending time with his family, and visiting relatives in Mexico. Robert is a very important "part" of our dealership!

    He says that an experienced Parts Department is important to customers. "The last thing you want is to get the wrong part, that can be frustrating. People want the right part and they want it in a timely fashion. That's what we do, and it's why people will go out of their way to buy parts here. They come from all over Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, and from all over New Mexico."

    Mike loves spending time with his little boy, and when he's not doing that he loves to ride his motorcycle. He is also known to be dangerous on certain online video games (such as Call of Duty and other shooter games!).

    He loves to see the reaction when new customers find out how friendly Southwest Hyundai really is. "They are always surprised," he says. "They always think we're going to be like all the other dealers. It's great when they find out how friendly we are and they really appreciate it. Sometimes people bring us cookies or pies to say thank you!"

    Jacob has 3 beautiful women in his life. He's married to one of them, and the other two are his daughters!

    "This Service Department is all about taking care of our customers," Jacob says. "We go the extra mile to ensure that EVERY customer feels like they're part of the family. We want them to feel just as welcome here as us!"

    Sederick grew up right here in Albuquerque and he takes pride in knowing a lot of the people who come through his office. "I can often find a connection with a customer if I speak to them long enough," he says. "They'll know somebody, or be related to somebody, and I'll know that person. Or I'll know someone who knows that person!"

    Regarding customer service, Sederick says it's simple: "Make sure you treat every customer with the exact same respect and care you would want yourself or your own family to receive. Because ultimately, these customers are like our family. We end seeing them over and over again, because they keep buying their future vehicles from us. That's because they know we will do whatever it takes to take care of them the right way."

    Frank and his wife spend a lot of their energy raising and "watching over" their three teenager daughters. One of his daughters recently won "Athlete of the Year" in the Albuquerque Public School system! Frank also loves to ride and build custom mountain bikes. Many of his friends and coworkers ride mountain bikes that Frank builds right in his own garage.

    Frank knows the secret to success in the auto business. "It's all about relationships," he says. "Every time we sell a car, we believe we're entering into a long-term relationship. And if you are planning to be in a relationship for a long time, you enter it with absolute transparency and respect. We want all our customers to feel absolutely comfortable visiting us for any reason, whether it be for a problem of some kind, for routine service, or to purchase another vehicle. And the only way they're going to always feel comfortable, is if they trust us and believe we really care."

    James loves to hunt. And not with long range rifles either, he uses a bow and arrow to hunt Antelope, Deer, Elk and even Bears. That is, when he is not spending time with his two teenage daughters and his beautiful wife!

    James knows that running the Service Department requires a true desire to make customers happy. "It's in the name of our department," he says. "It's called a SERVICE department for a reason. We're here to serve our customers. We know customers invest a lot in their vehicles. And we know how important it is to help them get the most out of that investment. We want every single customer we serve to feel that we did our absolute best to make them happy. And I'm proud to say... customers very often tell us they DO feel that way!"
